
The Super League Sustainability Table is a creative toolkit that can and has been utilised to promote both environmental sustainability and social responsibility within Greek football teams. The sustainability table provides a framework to rank different teams according to a set of indicators which measure their social responsibility and dedication to environmental sustainability.

- Rank clubs based on indicators including waste management, energy use, social inclusion and community support.

- Increase fan engagement to push teams to take increased social and environmental action

Description of the project:
The Super League Sustainability Table was established to enhance the role that sports have in contributing to positive societal and environmental change. The table utilises several environmental factors like transportation, waste management, water management, food sustainability and energy use. Furthermore, it uses social inclusion, accessibility, support to the community and equality as a means to measure and rank social and environmental impacts.
Impacts & Results:
As a result of the project, there have been numerous signs of increased social and environmental benefits from Greek football clubs. Using rankings and indicators like the sustainability table profits accountability, expectation and transparency which pushes football clubs to become more sustainable.
Conclusion and Suggestions for Youth Workers:
This sustainability table highlights how positive social and environmental change can occur in many ways. The main takeaway is the creativity of this project, using accountability and transparency – fuelled by competition and expectations from fans. With a low-cost initiative, you push larger organisations to make significant changes and therefore is an inspiring idea that can be utilised. Everybody likes competition, therefore sustainability challenges in this regard have a lot of opportunities. It can be used on a smaller scale, say for recycling the most amount of waste, using the least amount of plastic and so on.
